Checking in...from Asscher

Asscher has feeling butt hurt. Why? The name of the blog is Jen AND Asscher yet he has had limited blogs. So this one is dedicated to all things Asscher.

A lot of people has asked me why I've named my dog Asscher. Here is the story.

About 7 years ago, I was in a serious relationship with a guy named P. I had always wanted a dog, esp. a Maltese. The reason I wanted a Maltese was because all my friends had one, it was white, it was small, it was hypoallergenic and it looked so damn adorable. P being the amazing boyfriend he was decided to get me one once he bought a townhouse and I was elated. After months of searching, we finally found our dog, Asscher. We worked with our breeder, KW to make sure he was he right one for us and had him shipped from Texas to California.

While we were looking for the right dog, we had contemplated names. I like Mochi, Marshmallow, Snow White, Fur Ball, all the typical Asian dog names. On a random drunken night, I joked around and said our dog should be named after a cut of diamond and how ever many pounds the dog was once full grown and it should equal how many carats my engagement ring should be. Little did I know that my "joke" should turn into reality and thus our dog was named Asscher.

Asscher for those of you who don't know is a cut of diamond developed in 1902 by Joseph Asscher is Amsterdam which has 58 facets when cut. The royal Asscher developed in 2001 by Edward son, Joseph and it has 74 facets when cut. The Asscher cut is GIA certified as emerald cut but it is a cross between a princess and emerald cut. When an Asscher cut diamond is done properly and look into in, you will see a square within a square within a square. It's quite awe inspiring. I absolutely fell in love with Asscher cut diamonds the minute I set eyes upon it. I feel in love with my dog Asscher the minute I saw him as well. He was in my mind, D color and IF, perfect.

While Asscher was a puppy, I kept "force" feeding him. Asscher was a quite a fatty and was easily trained when bribed with food. Personally, I think he took after Mommy and was a closet foodie. Over time, Asscher grew to a healthy 7 lbs. The funny thing is that his parents, who were champion dogs were only 3-4 lbs! Asscher was def. the fatty of his family.

Sadly at this point, me and P were not longer Asscher's parents and it was a good thing for P because even at half of Asscher weight, I would have had a 3.5 carat Asscher cut engagement ring. At this time, Asscher had horrible tear stains which made the fur under his eyes and around his mouth stained a rust colored red. My heart my broken when I saw this adorable little dog suffering these tear stains. I discovered through friends and the Internet, Angel Eyes. It was a miracle in a bottle. After just a month of sprinkling this in Asschers food all his tear stains were gone and with once a month treatment for one year after that, Asscher has never had tear stains ever again. I was so happy that my little fur ball was finally all white and not suffering anymore.

As a pet Mom, I couldn't be happier than my precious baby was finally perfect again.

Asscher and me both love what Angel Eyes did for us. Asscher is literally like my son. I take him everywhere.

Now you know everything there is know to about Asscher, the dog and the diamond.
